Do you want to work on innovative solutions that build trust in our everyday lives. Then Thales is just the right company for you. Thales is one of the largest high-tech employers in Digital Identity & Security, Transportation, Space, Defence & Security and Aerospace. In this lunch lecture we will give some insights in how an electrical engineer contributes to the technologies developed at thales. This lecture is themed around the tracking of missiles with infrared sensors and cryocooling for climate research satellites.

Japan pubquiz

This summer the Denryu study tour to Japan will take place. We want to make sure that Thor members get more familiar with this beautiful country, we will organize a pubquiz to test your knowledge on the country, its culture, its food, and more topics. This will test the knowledge you already have, but we of course also hope to teach you some things this evening.

You do not have to subscribe to the pubquiz on forehand, and you can make groups yourselves (except if you are a participant to the Denryu study tour; we will create the groups for you).

The Career Expo is a two-day event during which 180+ companies present themselves, and want to get acquainted with you. On top of that there are extra activities like resume checks, and much more.

The Career Expo 2023 will take place on March 7 and 8 on-campus once again! So during the event, you will have the possibility to introduce yourself to over 180 companies eager to answer questions and talk about your potential place in that field of study or business. You will be able to orient yourself and develop your career like never before.

The Career Expo is specially tailored for all TU/e students. However, if you are a non-TU/e student it is possible to walk around over the expo and have a talk with all the companies.

DIODE study trip to Denmark

This year, the BuEx is going to Denmark! From May 16th to 22nd, we will visit interesting places and companies throughout Denmark with 30 students. We will be staying in three different cities over 5 days: Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen.

The maximum price for the trip is currently 490 euros, but this price might decrease. The final price will be set on March 3rd.

KiCad workshop

The academic year has started again, and so have the activities of Volundr! On March 2nd the Volundr KiCad workshop will help you gain familiarity with using specialized software to build any circuit you could ever need!

In practice, circuits are usually worked into a PCB. During this workshop you will get the chance to design a PCB. For this we will use software called KiCad. KiCad is a software suite that helps creating electronic circuits and PCBs. The software is free and available on many platforms.

On the 16th of February the favorite time of the people (most of them) who live below the rivers will start, I am talking about (student)Carnaval. ASML Lunch Lecture

‘Together with ASML Engineer Kara Meyer we’ll dive into the complex lithography systems that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits - aka microchips. How do they end up as systems that achieve nanometer precision? Not without challenges! System Performance Engineers qualify and calibrate these machines so that they can perform according to the customer's demanding needs. Along the way many challenges are encountered and these need to be solved! How does ASML solve these challenges like a contaminated wafer?
