Wanted: Design Challenge Tutors for the Academic Year
2023-2024
In your role as a project tutor you inspire and coach our 1st-year students during the first semester of
the academic year. You guide the group process and you make sure every individual is included. You
will deal with situations of conflict, unclear expectations and not meeting agreements if and when
necessary. You give ánd receive feedback to and from students. Assessment of specific professional
skills is part of your task (under responsibility of the lecturers)
Tasks:
- Guiding 1 or (preferably) 2 groups of students; one group consists of 8 students
- Peer-coaching meetings with the RYB core team (5 meetings in total)
- Organization of regular meetings with your groups and the design coach
- Keep track of the project progress
- Take part in the obligatory training for tutors
- Attend the DBL Kick-off meeting
- Attend the mid-term presentation and final demonstration
- Monitor the individual project contribution
- Take part in the discussion on Discord when necessary
Profile:
- Preference for 2nd-year or 3rd-year Bachelor students and Master students
- Minimum of 60 ECTS for 2nd-year students / 100 ECTS for 3rd-year students
- Enthusiastic, committed, responsible, positively critical and pro-active attitude
Hours distribution (September – February) for 1 group:
- Obligatory training in the last week of August: 4 hours
- Peer-coaching meetings: 5 hours
- Regular group meetings: 12 hours
- Demonstrations: 3 hours
- Kick-off meeting 3 hours
- Preparation: 6 hours
- Administration: 6 hours
- Other: 6 hours
Total: 45 hours

The course contains two challenges (Rock your baby and Energy challenge) and a programming part,
but the tutors are needed for the RYB challenge only. This means that you as a tutor need to have
enough availabilty in timelots E, A (Q1 only) and C (Q2 only), depending on the group(s) you will
supervise.
