Prodrive Technologies is a technology company that designs and manufactures all kinds of technologies. We operate in various markets, such as the medical, energy, industrial, semiconductor and mobility market. For these markets we create a wide range of products, from the smallest IOT chips to large interconnected systems that connect entire factories.

During this lunch lecture we will tell you about the design process of our Compact and Compact Pro Audio Video DIStribution (AVIDIS) products. The Prodrive AVIDIS system is aimed for the medical market and enables our customers to connect any video source (endoscope, camera, heart-monitor, etc.) to any video sink (monitor, recorder) by an IP-based protocol. With AVIDIS, images and video streams up to 4K 60FPS can be sent and switched uncompressed over a 10Gb Ethernet network with ultra-low latency.

The Compact and Compact Pro adapters form the basis of our AVIDIS technology. By using flexible FPGA-powered hardware we enable our products to send and receive video; perform video processing tasks like cropping, scaling, interlacing, compositing, encoding and applying bitmap overlays; and to top it off we also support streaming peripherals such as audio, USB, serial, and GPIO within the AVIDIS network.
