A revolution in the rail world
Each day more than a million people take the train in the Netherlands. We can travel safely on rails because of all sorts of systems that keep trains from derailing and colliding with other trains – systems you’ve probably never thought about before. This lecture will take you on a tour through railway security and elaborate on the revolution that is now starting by implementing an entirely new, European system ERTMS on 6000 km of Dutch railway, which will allow for trains moving faster and easier travel across the border.
