Lightyear Lunch Lecture

Lightyear is developing solar electric vehicles with 725km range (WLTP). Lightyear’s journey started in 2012 at the TU/e in the form of the Solar Team Eindhoven. Right now, the company has 170 employees, 3000m2 lab facility, raised over €80million in funding, and is preparing for its first deliveries. Arjo van der Ham, CTO of Lightyear and EE alumnus, will take a deep dive into the design challenges of creating the first commercial solar car and building up a patent portfolio of the world's most efficient motors, inverters, and solar electronics.
