In the excursion to the TenneT BritNed HVDC interconnector, we will see firsthand how electricity flows between the Netherlands and the UK. This impressive site is all about connecting grids, boosting reliability, and making sure energy gets where it’s needed most.

On this visit, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the technology that makes high-voltage direct current possible, and you’ll learn why it’s such a big deal for the energy transition. It’s a chance to see how international cooperation and smart engineering come together in one of Europe’s most advanced interconnectors.

We will meet in front of Flux on February 10th at 8:00 to board the bus that will take us to the site. The bus trip will take roughly 2 hours. Lunch will be provided by the company, and the expected return time to Flux is 17:00 (may change). 

Availability for the trip is not yet decided and may be limited. If that is the case, Master students will get subscription priority, followed by Bachelor students and then faculty members.
