TNO Excursion

On Thursday the 13th of November, we have the unique opportunity to visit TNO.

TNO is an independent research institute that connects science with industry to promote innovation in the Netherlands. Established in 1932, it conducts applied research to help companies, governments, and organizations address social and technological challenges. TNO’s work covers areas such as sustainable energy, digitalisation, health, defence, mobility, and the circular economy. Instead of focusing on academic research, TNO develops practical solutions that can be directly implemented, such as renewable energy technologies, cybersecurity systems, or smart manufacturing methods. Funded partly by the Dutch government and partly through collaborations with public and private partners, TNO strengthens the Netherlands’ innovation ecosystem and economic competitiveness. By translating scientific knowledge into practical applications, it supports the country’s transition toward a more sustainable, secure, and knowledge-based future.

Important Info:
  • Since the TNO location is a high-security site, anyone with a non-Dutch nationality will need to complete and submit an additional document, the Visit Authorisation Request (VAR) form, at least five working days before the event. This will be provided to you closer to the event.
  • At the location, all students must individually register at the reception and store their phones and other electronic devices in a locker.
  • This activity is worth 2 MyFuture Points
  • Since we are expected to arrive on time, we will leave from Flux at 11:30 at the latest. If you are not present then, and have not unsubscribed in time, you will be charged a fee of  €20,-.
