Everybody is busy in the week before the exams. Students are studying hard, lecturers are creating the exams, but what is the Commissioner of Education doing?

The Fellowship of Thor

Monday, October 22, 2018

Lord of the Rings can always be used to perfectly describe my life, or at least that's what I keep telling myself. While writing these very words, the beautiful sound of hobbits, elves, dwarves, Rohan, and Gondor is propagating through my house. We don't exactly have a ring to throw in a volcano, but I do see my Board as an awesome Fellowship of people who can get the job done while still having fun with it, just like for instance Gimli and Legolas, who can still joke about counting kills while being in a battle.

The magic of books

Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Once again, we’ve arrived at this week of the year, which was one of my favorite weeks when I was a child, except for maybe the week around my birthday and the time of Sinterklaas. The kinderboekenweek started last Wednesday, which is a week which is focused purely on one of my favorite things as a kid: books. As a kid I loved spending time reading books and absorbing the stories in those books.

The adventures of Ronald Janssen

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Time flies! I know I know, a lot of people say this all the time. But it seems like yesterday I started studying in Eindhoven. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere of Thor and joined Ivaldi. We organized a party and after that we organized a go-kart race around the Green strip. Then the second year came around and I joined ACCI, Aegir and best of all het Tappersgilde. With the ACCI I had a lot of fun organizing all sorts of activities. With Aegir I loved to sink time in working on decorations for parties (maybe a bit too much with the LED’s Party).

Kiddo's, kandies, ties, and more - Renate Debets

Thursday, September 13, 2018

This tale is about a kandi-Secretary, her tie, and about her favourite day of the introduction week: the Tuesday. Tuesday is the day at which by far most of the escalation takes place, and all the circumstances are just right. It's early enough in the week to be memorable, since from the Wednesday on, usually the memories start getting mixed up a bit. Everyone still has energy, and even though the kiddos might be a bit tired from the first night, they are not completely exhausted yet.
